Hardware Installation

Device Connection:

Connect the Bio-Rad AS 100 Autosampler using an RS-232 cable (see  Bio-Rad AS 100 Cable in the Appendix of the Hardware Installation section)

Device Settings:

Before an injection is possible, the Activity Code string of the autosampler must be STOP. In addition, the ReadForInject property must be true (= 1). Otherwise, a flush command must be executed; that is, a flush command is required between two injection commands!

 

Software Installation

Install the Device Driver in the Chromeleon Server Configuration. (For more information about the program, refer to Software Installation and Communication  The Server Configuration Program.)

  1. Start the Chromeleon server.

  2. Start the Server Configuration program.

  3. Add the autosampler to the timebase. Select Add Device on the Edit or context menu, and then select BIO-RAD from the Manufacturers list box and AS 100 Sampler from the Devices list box.

  4. The following settings are required:

On the General tab page, select a free COM port.

The Error Levels tab page classifies the severity of any errors that occur. It is generally not necessary to change the default settings.

  1. To control the Bio-Rad AS 100 autosampler, connect the BIORAD_AS100.pan Control Panel in the Chromeleon client to the corresponding timebase.
